My Favorite GF Cookbook

When I first discovered that I had issues with gluten, I honestly had NO idea where to turn to first for help in the kitchen. It was safest just to completely cut out carbs right there at the beginning. I was just plain scared of food. Eventually I welcomed corn and potatoes-- I knew they were safe. But after some time, I was truly missing my bread and muffins and cookies.

Somehow, I got a hold of this book: Easy Gluten-Free Baking: by Elizabeth Barbone.

Honestly I wish I could remember who gave it to me or where I got it.
But alas... my memory fails me.

Regardless, this book was a newbie GF-er's dream come true! It's super simple! Easy recipes. Easy to find and purchase ingredients. Yummy recipes.

The whole first chapter walks you through general GF ingredients, stocking your kitchen, and an introduction to GF baking basics. From there, the chapters go as follows: breakfast, muffins & quick breads, yeast breads, cookies, holiday cookies, brownies & bar cookies, cakes, pies, and the last chapter, my favorite, is entitled "Tastes Like". Yup... wanna make a Twinkie, an Oreo, animal crackers, Ritz crackers, Honey Maid Graham Crackers, Nabisco Better Cheddars, etc? Well now you can make yummy GF alternatives to so many of those gluten-FULL no-no's.

If you're new to gluten free baking or you just want some simple, but tried and true baking recipes, have a go at this cookbook. You will not be sorry.
If you do purchase this book, or you already have it, I'd love to hear your feedback about it! Let me know if you like it!
